Santa Rosa Academy has implemented a new homework policy for the 2018/2019 school year. There will be no homework in grades K-3. Here are some things to work on with your child at home instead.
1. Read just-right books every night — (and have your parents read to you too)
2. Math application in real life context (cooking, measuring, etc.)
3. Get outside and play — not more screen time.
4. Eat dinner with your family — and help out with setting and cleaning up and talk about what you learned at school.
5. Get a good night’s sleep.
Additional things to work on:
*Practice Sight Words!!
*Teach them how to tie their shoes
*Practice putting belt on and taking belt off
*Practice buttoning buttons and zipping zippers
*Practice rhyming
*Count everything
*Practice manners
